An earthquake of moderate intensity rattled the Indonesian island of Sumatra late Friday night, the Meteorological Department said Saturday.
The temblor, measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale and epicentered off the west coast of northern Sumatra at 1.7 degree north latitude and 96.7 degree east longitude, struck at 11.14 pm Friday, it said.
However, no damage or casualties have been reported so far.
