Former Mumbai police commissioner Ranjit Singh Sharma was on Sunday again questioned by the Special Investigation Team in connection with the fake stamp paper racket.

The SIT has already questioned him thrice at its Worli office. The fourth round of interrogation of Sharma, who is to retire today, was related to fresh developments in the scam, SIT sources said in Mumbai.

The former police chief failed to turn up for questioning on Saturday citing personal reasons.

The SIT had informed the Mumbai high court on November 27 that it intended to summon Sharma for questioning in the wake of fresh developments.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh police have seized fake stamp paper worth Rs 9,300 and arrested a person in the connection in Marya village in Sant Kabir Nagar district.

The arrested person has been identified as Rajendra Prasad Shukla, Superintendent of Police Piyush Mediya told reporters in Sant Kabir Nagar.
