The London police have arrested three persons of Indian origin in connection with the attack on Praveen Reddy. Mohammed Siddique reports
Two family members of Praveen Reddy, who was stabbed in London two days ago, left for the United Kingdom on Sunday after authorities granted them visa on emergency basis.
Praveen Reddy's father J Sudhakar Reddy and uncle Madhusudhan Reddy left Hyderabad for London to look after Praveen who was stabbed and critically injured by unknown assailants on Friday night.
However, Praveen Reddy's mother, Jyothi, could not travel along due to health reasons and the shock she suffered on learning about the incident.
The news that the 26-year-old MBA student was stabbed and injured in East London came as a bolt out of the blue to his parents and other family members, as he had called home only an hour before. He was also scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad on February 17 to attend his brother's wedding.
J Sudhakar Reddy, a businessman, said before leaving for London that his son was under treatment after a prolonged surgery. The authorities of the British High Commission speedily processed the visas for Praveen's family members after Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna spoke to Sudhakar Reddy over phone on Saturday and offered him all the necessary cooperation from the government's side.
Meanwhile, reports from London say that the police have arrested three persons of Indian origin in connection with the attack on Praveen. Further investigations are on.
