Speaker gives wake-up call to napping Lalu in LS

September 02, 2011 12:57 IST
Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad was literally caught napping in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Prasad was seen catching his forty winks while being seated in his allocated first row seat, which is right in front of the Speaker's chair.

Speaker Meira Kumar noticed the RJD supremo dozing and requested his party colleague Umashankar Singh, seated behind Prasad in the second row to wake him up. "Umashankarji, please wake him up," Kumar said.

Singh promptly tapped Prasad on his shoulder and pointed out that the Speaker had noticed him.
