"There was an explosion last week and I became unconscious for a while. I have been discharged from the hospital but I cannot walk properly as my right ear has been affected and I have lost the ability to balance my body," Avi Hangsin, a paratrooper in IDF, told PTI.
There are five Indian soldiers fighting for the Israel Defence Forces in southern Lebanon, Tzvi Khaute, secretary of the Bnei Menashe, the community of north eastern Indian Jews hailing from Manipur and Mizoram, said.
Avi immigrated to Israel from Manipur in December 2000 and joined the Israel Defence Forces in Novemeber 2003 after finishing his high school. The other soldiers from the community are involved in fighting in Meron A-Ras and Bint Jbail.
