With the situation improving a bit in violence-hit Saharanpur, curfew was relaxed for a few hours to allow locals to buy essentials.

Three people were killed and 24 were injured in riots that broke out in the district on Saturday.

An uneasy calm prevailed in Saharanpur where 38 people were arrested as a political blame game erupted with the Bharatiya Janata Party accusing Samajwadi Party of indulging in "vote-bank politics" and the Congress blasting the Uttar Pradesh government for "lapses".
