Here's a look at what Modi and his mantris are up to on their first day in office.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office on Tuesday, a day after being sworn-in by President Pranab Mukherjee.
Modi was received at South block office of the Prime Minister’s Office by newly appointed Principal Secretary Nripendra Mishra and some other officials.

As soon as he entered his office, he paid obeisance to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi by offering flower tributes to his photograph.
However, even before assuming charge, Modi had already began his official work last night by holding a meeting with top officials.
Soon after he was sworn-in as prime minister, Modi sought support, blessings and active participation of the people to take India's development journey to newer heights.
"Together we will script a glorious future for India," he said in his first message on the relaunched PMO website. "Let us together dream of a strong, developed and inclusive India that actively engages with the global community to strengthen the cause of world peace and development," he added.

Modi also paid tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary.
Soon after assuming office Modi tweeted to pay respects to Nehru.
"I pay my tributes to our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 'punya tithi," Modi tweeted on Nehru's 50th death anniversary.

In his first bilateral meeting with international leaders after assuming charge, Modi held talks with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.
In their more than half an hour meeting, Modi and Karzai discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the wake of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation combat troops withdrawal from the war-torn country.
Modi was assisted in the talks by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh among others.
The meeting with Karzai was followed by Modi's talks with Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom at the ceremonial Hyderabad House in New Delhi.

Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley takes charge as the finance minister in New Delhi. He pledges to contain price rise, restore confidence of investors in the economy and promote growth while keeping the fiscal deficit under check.
Jaitley also takes charge as defence minister. "FDI in defence will be dealt with by defence and finance. Defence ministry is an additional charge for the next few weeks. External security is the prime responsibility of the defence ministry," he says.
"This (defence) is an additional charge with me until expansion of cabinet," he adds.
