Indian Space Research Organisation has put out stunning photos of the launch of GSLV-D5.
The vehicle smoothly lifted off to space from Sriharikota on Sunday afternoon and put India into the elite 'cryogenic club'.
The sequence of photos show how the vehicle lifted off in a fiery blast off at 1618 hours IST from Satish Dhawan Space Centre as ISRO scientists watched with bated breath.
All the important flight phases such as the core stage and strap-on stage propulsion, payload fairing separation, second stage propulsion, cryogenic stage propulsion and spacecraft separation, were executed as planned, ISRO said in a release.
