Ganesh Chathurthi in the time of swine flu

Times change, so does business. If business has to flourish in adverse conditions, one has to be innovative. Like this case in Bangalore during the dreaded swine flu outbreak.

A shopkeeper that makes Ganesha statues every year has decided to use the swine flu as the theme this year.

There are statues of Lord Ganesha which show him carrying his disciples wearing the protective mask. The idol is surrounded by his disciples,  who are also seen wearing protective masks.

One of the persons, working in the shop, says that the idea is not to make a mockery of the outbreak, but to spread awareness about the situation. That is why he says it has been used as a theme for the celebrations.

He adds, "Only Ganesha can help us tide over the crisis that is facing our nation. He is the saviour.'
