Six Naxals arrested in Chhattisgarh

In a major breakthrough, the Chhattisgarh police arrested six Naxals including an alleged deputy commander who were involved in blowing up a bus recently in which 32 people were killed.

A police team from Kuankonda was sent to Phoolpahad forest after receiving a tip-off about Naxal movement there, SP Dantewada S R P Kalluri said. The Naxals were engaged in a meeting when the police reached

the forest. While some of them escaped from the spot, police arrested six of them including the deputy commander of the area, Kunjami Hunga, he said.
All six of them were wanted in various cases lodged in different police stations including blowing of a bus five months ago that had killed 32 persons, many of whom were securitymen, besides villagers, Kalluri said. The arrested Naxals were being interrogated, he said.
