The killing of 5 Indian soldiers in a Pakistani ambush on the Line of Control has once again fanned the simmering tensions between the neighbouring countries.

The latest incident has dealt a severe blow to India’s manoeuvres to resume normal ties with Islamabad’s new administration.

A concerned Parliament and an angry nation are demanding strong response from the Manmohan Singh government.

In September, Prime Minister is scheduled to visit New York for the United Nations General Assembly meeting where he is expected to hold talks with his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.
