The Dalits were accused of stealing a bike.
M I Khan reports from Patna.

First, Dalits were stripped and beaten mercilessly in Una, Gujarat, by so-called 'cow protectors.'

Now emerges another horrifying tale of two Dalit youth being badly beaten in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district. Their ordeal didn't end there.

In a shocking violation of their human rights and in a display of caste violence at its crudest and most disgusting, one attacker then reportedly urinated in the mouths of the Dalit men.

The incident took place in Babutola in Muzaffarpur district on Wednesday, July 20, night after the Dalit youth attended a fair during the ongoing Annapurna-mahayagya.

The mother of one victim, in her complaint lodged at the Paru police station, said her son and his friend were caught by the head of the Utri-Paru village panchayat and his henchmen, locked in a room and thrashed for allegedly stealing a motorcycle.

One henchmen, the mother said in her complaint, then urinated in their mouths to humiliate them.

When her husband went to rescue the young men, she stated in her complaint, he too was attacked and humiliated.

'After my husband returned, he informed the police who freed my son and his friend and got them admitted to a local primary health centre,' the mother stated.

The officer in charge at the Paru police station said investigation has begun. Muzaffarpur Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Kumar said he has ordered a deputy superintendent of police to investigate the allegations levelled against 11 accused.
