SEE: Stunning cockpit views from fighter jets at R-Day flypast

The grand finale of the Republic Day parade witnessed the biggest fly-past with 75 aircraft and helicopters of the Indian Air Force displaying a number of formations to mark the 'Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav' celebrations.

This year the viewers could also see the cockpit of the aircraft on the screens at the parade venue as well as during the broadcast.

Dhwaj formation

The flypast began with the 'Dhwaj' formation with four Mi-17 aircraft

Baaz formation

The Baaz formation comprises a Rafale, two Jaguar, 2 MiG-29 UPG, 2 Si-30 Mi.

Rudra

The Rudra formation, which was led by Col. Sudipto Chaki of 301 Army Aviation Special Operations Sqn with the national flag comprised of two Dhruv helicopters and two ALH Rudra Helicopters.

Rahat formation

This formation comprises five ALH ac flying in five ac arrowhead formation.

Vinaash formation

‘Vinaash’ formation compromising five Rafales flying in Arrowhead formation at Republic Day parade.

Tangail formation

This formation saw one Dakota and two Dornier flying in Vic formation.

This was a tribute to the Tangail airdrop operations of the 1971 War.

Varuna formation 

This formation comprises 1 P8i ac with 2 MiG-29K.

Amrit formation

The flypast concluded with 17 Jaguar fighter aircraft flying in the 'Amrit' formation to commemorate the 75 years of Independence.

This formation comprises 17 Jaguar ac making a figure of 75.
