Second victim of Delhi railway stampede identified

The second victim of the stampede at New Delhi Railway Station was identified on Tuesday as Govind Rai of Begusarai district in Bihar. His body was identified this morning at the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narain hospital mortuary by his father Anil Rai, who was injured in the stampede, which claimed two lives on Sunday.

"Anil, who suffered minor injuries, was discharged from LNJP hospital on Monday," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways)

B S Gurjar told PTI. The description that Anil gave had matched with the body but he could not physically go to the mortuary yesterday and identify it.

35-year-old Soni and 10-year-old Govind died in the stampede following last minute change of platform for two trains at the New Delhi Railway Station. Eight others were injured in the incident.
