Sathya Sai Baba, who has been undergoing treatment for multi-organ dysfunction, continues to be critical but stable, doctors attending on him said on Monday.

Most of his indices of the functioning of the organs and vital parameters continue to be nearly normal, according to a health bulletin issued by the Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences in Puttaparthi, where he is being treated.

However, the condition of his liver and the occasional spells of low blood pressure continue to worry the doctors, the bulletin said.

"The overall condition of Sai Baba still continues to be critical. However, the panel of doctors treating him are watching his health round-the-clock and are satisfied with the response," it said.

Sai Baba, 86, was hospitalised on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.
