Sathya Sai Baba, who is undergoing treatment for multi-organ dysfunction, is much better than earlier though his condition is still critical, doctors attending on him said on Monday.

"Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who continues to be under treatment, is showing positive response to the treatment being given to him. He continues to be on the ventilator and is undergoing dialysis periodically," an evening bulletin issued by the director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences said in Puttaparthi.

Sai Baba's kidneys, lungs and liver are showing improvement, it said.

"His kidneys and lungs are showing signs of improvement. His hemodynamic values like heart rate, blood pressure, blood gas analysis are nearly normal. The functioning of liver is also showing improvement," the bulletin said.

"His overall condition is much better than earlier although he is still critical," it said.

Sai Baba, 85, was admitted to the super-speciality hospital on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.
