There has been a slight improvement in the health of Sathya Sai Baba though he still continues to be in a critical state, doctors attending on him said on Friday.

"Sathya Sai Baba's vital parameters and indicators of functions of the various organs of the body like the blood pressure, heart rate, blood gas analysis, bio-chemical values continue to be nearly normal," said a health bulletin issued this evening by A N Safaya, director of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences.

"There is a slight improvement of all his systems, though slow," it said. The panel of doctors treating the godman is satisfied with the progress shown by him to the treatment, it said.

However, his condition continued to be critical and he is breathing with the help of ventilator and being given kidney support through continuous renal replacement therapy system of dialysis, the bulletin said. 86-year-old Sai Baba was admitted to the hospital on March 28 following problems related to heart and respiration.

The godman has been suffering from multi-organ dysfunction.
