Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur was on Monday presented before a court here in an ambulance parked inside the premises, in the Sunil Joshi murder case, as she was unable to step out due to spine problems.

Sadhvi, who reached here on Monday by Mumbai-Indore Awantika Express was unable to climb to the first floor of the court building, where Chief Judicial Magistrate Onkarnath Singh sits because of pain in her backbone and inability to stand properly.

She has been referred to the M Y hospital in Indore and doctors there would decide on when she will be fit for further travelling. Earlier, she was taken to the Mahatma Gandhi District Hospital soon after her arrival for a check up.

On an application filed by the Sadhvi's counsel, the court directed that two female attendants would stay with her round-the-clock. Sadhvi, a key accused in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, was brought to Dewas by Maharashtra police amidst tight security for hearing in the murder case.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist Sunil Joshi, a suspect in the Samjhauta Express blast case, was shot dead at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2007.

Sadhvi was earlier questioned by the Dewas police in connection with the murder in February following which her name was added as an accused in the case.  She has not been handed over formally to the Madhya Pradesh police.
