CDs a conspiracy to malign Joshi: RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Tuesday said the video CD featuring Sanjay Joshi, who quit as Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary, allegedly in "bad light" was a "conspiracy" to malign him and he stepped down only to allow proper investigation into the matter.

"The entire incident is sad and it is nothing more than a conspiracy hatched to malign Joshi," RSS spokesman Ram Madhav said adding that a thorough probe should be carried out in the matter.

Madhav, who arrived in Ahmedabad to participate in the Vishwa Sangh Shibir 2005 at Gandhinagar, told reporters at the airport that "Joshi has resigned so that proper investigations could be carried out in the matter." Joshi resigned from his post in BJP after video compact discs showing him in "poor light" surfaced.
