"What is there in the report," she asked. "At best it is yet another document on Kashmir and how to solve the ticklish problem. The report talks about creating three councils in Srinagar, Leh and Jammu. We already have two councils in Leh and Kargil," she told rediff.com over the telephone from her Srinagar residence.
Slamming the three interlocutors, Mufti said, "They talk about giving greater autonomy to the state. This issue has been discussed endless number of times but nothing has materialised so far."
Three interlocutors -- Dilip Padgaonkar, Radha Kumar and M M Ansari -- submitted a report on Kashmir, exactly a year after they were appointed. The group in thier recommendations said that there should be scaling down of powers by the armed forces under Armed Forces Special Act as well in the rules of Public Safety act.
Asked if the report was an effort to divert the people's attention from mysterious death of National Conference worker Sayeed Muhammad Yousuf she said that the two issues are separate and have no connection whatsoever.
