Rajputs target Farhan Akhtar for his film produced by Ekta Kapoor

February 02, 2014 20:10 IST

Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar was in for an unpleasant surprise when he flagged off the fifth edition of Jaipur Marathon in which over 50,000 participants took part.

However, during the event, as Farhan was cheering for the participants, some members of the Rajput Karni Sena started shouting slogans. They even threatened to not let his upcoming film Shadi Ke Side Effects run in Rajasthan, as the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor, who backtracked from her promise of changing the name of on-going television serial Jodha-Akbar.

However, before Akhtar could respond, the police forcibly took away the small group, which had tried creating a ruckus during one of Jaipur Literature Festival’s sessions that had Ekta as a panelist last month.

Members were seen shouting anti-Ekta slogans for ‘distorting’ facts in her serial. Kapoor had promised the Karni Sena people of re-christening her tele-series, when she was in the city to promote her film Once Upon A Time in Mumbai- Dobara, a promise that she didn’t honour post the film’s release.

This prompted Rajput members to stall the release of any of the films produced by her.
