Rajasthan police arrest paraplegic girl they allegedly molested

A 24-year-old paraplegic girl has been arrested in Jaipur e on charges of conspiracy in connection with abduction and rape of her friend and denied bail by a local court.

The girl had been summoned in January last year by the police for interrogation in this case but was allegedly molested by policemen following which she attempted suicide by jumping before a moving train leading to the disability.

The girl, who suffers 80 per cent disability, was arrested two days back and her bail plea was rejected by a local court on Friday.

Three policemen including the then SHO of Pratap Nagar police station had been arrested after the girl had attempted suicide. The case relates to her missing friend who was traced in Mathura in May.

The friend had alleged that the paraplegic girl forced her to have sex with some boys. She also lodged a first information report against seven accused including the girl.

Mahendra Singh, deputy commissioner of police (east), said the girl was arrested after proper investigation.
