Hailing the arrest of former telecom minister A Raja in the 2G Spectrum case, former Central Bureau of Investigation Director Joginder Singh has termed it as just a stepping-stone in the right direction.

"When the time to prosecute A Raja comes, the CBI would have to depend upon the central government. It is the central government, which has to sanction prosecution of Raja. Time alone will tell what happens in the case," he told rediff.com

Stating that there was no way political pressure could be exercised in the case, Singh said: "In the present scenario since the Apex court is directly supervising the case hence there is no way that someone in the government could

cause any trouble."
