Kerala: Raids on Popular Front offices continue

Police raids on several Popular Front offices across Kerala have unearthed a massive catch of arms and explosives.

The police has seized a huge volume of arms and countrymade bombs on the raids conducted at the Popular Front office in Edakkad ,near Kannur on Monday.

In a raid at Punnad in Iritty, 10 countrymade bombs were seized .In a similar raid at Payyannur,  four swords were apprehended .

During the raid at the Popular front state committee office in Kozhikode,  a large number of brochures and leaflets mentioning religious conversion were caught . Several incriminating documents and CDs were also seized, police officers, who took part in the raid, told rediff.com.

The police raid in the Campus Front (student wing of Popular Front ) state committee office also revealed several CDs and documents .Police had to break open the front door of the office as the student leader, who was in charge of the keys, had not reached during the raid .

Kozhikode city police commissioner P Vijayan led the raid conducted at the state committee office. Police is conducting raids in various places in Kannur, Kozhikode, Wyanad and Thiruvananthapuram.
