Rahul tweets Aspen conference photo to end 'vacation' claims

Last updated on: September 28, 2015 12:01 IST

In an attempt to silence all the criticism surrounding his absence, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi has posted a picture on Twitter of himself attending a conference in Aspen.

"Very interesting discussions on the global economy & the disruptive power of tech at the conference in Aspen," tweeted Office of RG.

The picture posted on the twitter claimed Gandhi's presence in the 'New Media and International Affairs Conference' in Colorado.

Congress leader Milind Deora, who is accompanying Rahul on the trip, also posted a photograph, below, of the Congress vice president with David Milband, former British foreign secretary and Labour Party politician.

The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress have been involved in a bitter war of words after the Congress leader left for the US, with the ruling party firing the first salvo derisively claiming he had been sent on a "forced vacation" as his Bihar allies believe that his presence would harm their chances in the assembly polls.

However, the Congress has been insisting that Rahul had gone to the US to attend a conference 'Weekend with Charlie Rose' at Aspen Institute in Colorado where thought leaders from different walks of life like politics, finance, technology, media, medicine, sports etc gather to deliberate on multiple issues.
