'Rahul Gandhi missing' posters surface in Amethi

A month after Congress President Sonia Gandhi granted her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi a ‘leave of absence’ from active politics, the face of the ‘missing’ MP has been slapped onto several posters that have cropped up in his own constituency of Amethi declaring a reward for any information regarding Rahul’s whereabouts.

According to reports, these posters allege that the Congress vice president lacks courage since he decided to go on leave during the crucial Budget Session.

Some posters also carry a list of problems being faced by the voters of the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.

One poster carries a note, “Jane woh kaun sa desh jahan tum chale gaye, na chitthi na sandesh, kahan tum chale gaye (We don’t know which place you have gone to…No messages, no letters where have you gone?)” and an appeal made to the Congress leader in name of “People of Amethi Lok Sabha constituency”.

The posters became a cause of concern for Congress partymen, who spent an entire day removing them from public places in Amethi.

Similar posters, announcing reward for anyone who provides information regarding Rahul’s current whereabouts, have also sprung up in different districts, including in Bulandshahr and Allahabad.
