The Madhya Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a judicial review of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi's role in then Union Carbide Corporation Chief, Warren Anderson's exit from India after Bhopal gas tragedy.

The party passed a resolution on the Bhopal gas disaster on Wednesday blaming former prime minister for not only releasing Anderson under US pressure, but also giving him a royal send-off from India, demanding a judicial review of his role in the matter.

The resolution, moved by Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Raghunandan Sharma, was passed on the first day of the two-day meeting of state BJP executive, senior party leader, Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan told journalists.

The party also demanded extradition of Anderson for facing trial, declaring remaining 20 wards as gas affected and reconsidering the number of deceased persons which according to the Centre is over 15,000 while the number keeps on increasing due to the lethal effects of the gas.

Terming the recent compensation package as very less, the resolution demanded to enhance it in accordance with the present figure of number of deaths and affected people
