Prashant Kishor to be made advisor to Nitish, gets Cabinet rank

January 22, 2016 11:49 IST

Strategist Prashant Kishor who helped the Mahagathbandhan to trounce the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Bihar assembly polls will be inducted as advisor to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, ANI reported.

Kishor is likely to be given a cabinet rank in the Nitish Kumar-led government.

The poll strategist was the main force behind Kumar's campaign strategy in Bihar.

Incidentally, Kishor was one of the key backroom players for Narendra Modi when he was the chief minister of Gujarat, and also when he was running as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate.

Kishor heads Indian Political Action Committee, led by a young team of technocrats.

The Bihar assembly elections were considered to be a clash between the strategies of Kishor and BJP president Amit Shah, and the landslide results from the state should leave no one in any doubt as to who got the better of who.

But history, as they say, is full of 'what ifs'. So let us add to the long list and ask, What if the NDA government had recognised Kishor's feat and rewarded him for it, like Nitish has done in Bihar?
