After one-and-half hours of blackout in the western suburbs including the Mumbai airport, power was restored by 6.25 pm on Thursday. According to Reliance Infrastructure spokesperson, the power failure occurred at 5. 55 pm due to technical glitch on the Tata Power transmission system between Trombay
and Borivli.

Areas that were affected included Andheri, Jogeshwari, Goregoan Malad and Borivli. "Power has been successfully restored to about 85 per cent of the affected regions. Restoration of power to remaining areas is being undertaken on a war-footing basis," said the RINFRA official.
