Unlike children of other top Bihar leaders, Nishant says there's no chance of him joining politics.

Unlike Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad's two sons, who took oath as Bihar cabinet minister on Friday, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's only son -- Nishant -- said he has no interest in politics.

"I have no interest in politics and there is no chance of me joining politics," Nishant told Rediff.com at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, soon after his father was sworn-in as chief minister for the fifth time.

Like his father, Nishant is also an engineer. He is soft-spoken and suave.

"Papa achcha kam karenge, jaisa unhone pahle kiya hain. Logon ke expectations ko pura karenge (My father will fulfil expectations of people like he did in his previous terms)" Nishant said in chaste Hindi.

He said his father has worked hard for the development of Bihar. "Ignoring extreme conditions, my father has worked hard to develop Bihar. He never cared for himself. He only wants to see more and more development in Bihar," Nishant said.

While Lalu's two sons were dressed in designer colourful bundi over kurta payjama, Nishant was clad in a simple cotton white kurta payjama.

According to Janata Dal-United leaders close to Nitish, Nishant loves high-tech gadgets, good food and likes to visit temples and other religious and spiritual places.

Apaprt from Lalu's two sons, Chirag Paswan, son of another prominent leader in Bihar politics Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan, is also an MP of his father's Lok Janshakti Party which is an ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Lalu’s elder daughter Misa Bharti is also in active politics. She was defeated in last Lok Sabha polls from Patliputra seat.
