"His stitches have been opened. Some were removed on Saturday evening while others were removed on Sunday at around 11 AM. His condition is alright," the prime minister's personal physician Dr K S Reddy told PTI.
The stitches were removed by Dr Ramakant Panda, the surgeon from Mumbai's Asian Heart Institute who had led
the team of doctors which performed the successful
operation.
Dr Panda has been in Delhi since Saturday for the job, Dr Dr Vijay D'silva, ICU specialist from AHI who was part of the operating team, said.
The 76-year-old Prime Minister "is leading a normal life and is having normal food. He is allowed to meet his
officials," Dr D'silva said.
He said that the Prime Minister will also undergo physiotherapy sessions.
Dr D'silva also said that an X-ray was conducted on the Prime Minister. "X-ray is necessary for monitoring such patients after almost 15 days of surgery," he said.
