Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country on Friday in his first radio address titled 'Mann Ki baat' on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.
On Friday, the prime minister promised to hold regular radio chats with the country at least twice a month Sundays at 11 am. Here are the highlights of Modi’s first radio speech:
1. Today is Vijaya Dashmi. My greetings to all of you. This day celebrates the victory of good over evil.
2. We must promote the use of khadi. Buy at least one khadi article. If you buy Khadi you light the lamp of prosperity in the house of a poor person.
3. Let us pledge to affirm to remove dirt. Yesterday we began the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and I want you all to join this Abhiyaan.
4. 125 crore Indians are blessed with immense skill and strengthen. All we need to do is to understand our strengths.
5. This nation belongs to everyone. It is important for people to be a part of the development journey.
6. I want you to keep sharing these things with me. Together let us serve India and take our nation to newer heights.
7. On mail, lot of people wrote to me that children should begin skill development courses at a very young age. This is a good suggestion.
8. Some wrote to me that we should have more dustbins. This is also a good point.
9. I am really happy to be talking to you on the radio. I can reach all of you through radio, especially our poor, the villages.
