PM leaves for home after G8 Summit in Japan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh left for home after a three-day visit to Japan during which he met world leaders including US President George W Bush on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the summit of the Group of Eight industrialised countries.

Singh had a packed schedule on the final day and his bilateral meetings included parleys with Austrlian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and new Russian President Dimitri Medvedev

He attended a breakfast session with leaders of G8 and the five outreach countries.

Singh also spoke to French President Nicholas Sarkozy, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
