PM Modi relishes Rs 29 lunch in Parliament

March 02, 2015 14:45 IST

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined some MPs in having lunch in the Parliament’s canteen meant for parliamentarians.

Modi made a surprise visit to Room number 70 on the first floor of the Parliament building and took lunch there.

He had a vegetarian thali and made the payment of Rs 29 for the same himself, sources said.

He also mingled with MPs present there at that time and chatted with them.

Later, he signed the Parliament canteen’s visitor book: “Anna data sukhi bhava”.

Far from eating in the canteen, rarely has any PM even visited the canteen. Even the ministers are rarely seen eating meals in the canteen.
