After India carried out a daring surgical strike and took out terrorists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in response to the Uri attack in which 19 soldiers were killed, Border Security Force and army personnel are on full alert all along the 198-kilometre long international border and 744-km long Line of Control, to thwart any ‘mischief’ by Islamabad.

Rediff.com's Umar Ganie captures the scenes from the LoC.

We are at the ready! Indian security forces are on a high alert and are in position to defend the country from any retaliatory action from Pakistan following the surgical strikes in the wee hours of Thursday across the LoC.

Won't back down! Artillery has been put in ready condition at strategic locations to effectively respond to Pakistan if it fired artillery shells.

Keeping an eye out: Keeping in mind that terrorists from across the LoC would try to infiltrate and carry out more attacks, the armed forces have doubled in areas around the LoC, carrying out several patrols.

The armed forces also evacuated villagers living near the Line of Control and International Border to reduce the chances of civilian casualties in case of cross-border firing.

Every measure possible to ensure our borders are safe have been taken by the armed forces.
