When in Nagaland, PM Modi does it the Naga way

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Nagaland to inaugurate the Hornbill Festival. This is the first time since Atal Behari Vajpayee that a PM has visited the north eastern state.

And while the PM was in town, he went all out from headgear to developmental schemes to woo the Naga audience.

Here’s a look at PM Modi in Nagaland.

While the PM was in town, he went the Naga way and donned the traditional gear of the Naga tribes. A member of a Naga tribe also gifted him a traditional spear. 

All hail Modi, the Naga warrior! Wearing the traditional clothes and headgear, PM Modi looked more like a warrior and less like a politician. 

A member of the tribe also presented Modi a sketch of himself in the traditional gear. 

Over the weekend, Modi also visited other northeastern states. In Manipur, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh presented him with a painting. 

And on Sunday, donning a japi, a traditional Assam headgear, he addressed his party workers at a meeting in Guwahati.
