Nationalist Congress Party’s Chhagan Bhujbal frail pictures from hospital have gone viral on social media.

The NCP leader’s photograph was taken at Mumbai's St George’sHospital on Saturday, about six weeks after Bhujbal was arrested in a corruption case and was sent to Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail.

Bhujbal has reportedly lost 10 kilograms since his arrest in March. He is seen with a full grown white beard and a very frail look in the picture.

Controversies surrounded Bhujbal even in the hospital as his admission to the St George’s Hospital ran into trouble and an inquiry was ordered into it. There were reports questioning why Bhujbal was taken to a St George Hospital instead of a dental hospital when he had only complained of tooth ache.

An inquiry by the prisons department into the admission revealed that a doctor at Arthur Road Jail had manipulated papers to help the jailed Nationalist Congress Party leader.

Bhujbal, remanded in judicial custody in an alleged money laundering case, was admitted to ICU of the multi-speciality hospital in South Mumbai on April 18 after he complained of severe chest pain and high blood pressure.

Bipin Kumar Singh, inspector general, prisons, said jail doctor Rahul Ghule has been shifted out of the Arthur Road jail and sent back to the health department. Also, “strict action” has been recommended against the doctor, he said.
