His eyes make us go weak at the knees and maybe that’s the reason this chaiwalla from Pakistan is all anyone is talking about.
Meet Arshad Khan, a teenager from Kohat district, who had been making tea at the Itwar Bazaar for three months. A random Instagram snap by photographer Jiah Ali thrusted Khan into the limelight and ever since that moment, he’s become every girl’s dream boy and by looking at him, we agree.
Soon after, the photograph went viral and the internet quickly took notice of Khan – #ChaiWala was even trending Twitter.
Hello Indians, this is a chai wala from Pakistan mashallah,” said one post.
‘I present you with a chai wala (tea seller) in Pakistan who forgot that he should’ve been modelling instead,” said another.
“Meet the steamin’ hot ‘chai wala’ from Islamabad (Pakistan), who’s going viral as we speak,” went another post, with a picture of Arshad attired in blue, and pouring out tea.
“A chai wala from Pakistan is now famous on Indian social media. This is truly aMan kee aasha,” said one Twitter post.
And the swooning pretty soon spread to India – with the blue-eyed wonder becoming a sensation here too even at a time where ire towards the Pakistani government is running high after militants in Kashmir killed 19 Indian troops last month.
In fact, a Twitter user joked, “Clearly #India-#Pakistan tensions have eased; a handsome Islamabad tea-seller is the top-trending topic in the region (& world!). #ChaiWala.”
And days after he became a viral sensation, Arshad has now landed a modelling contract with a popular Pakistani fashion brand called Fitin.pk, in a turn of events right out of a Bollywood film.
