Last updated on: September 27, 2016 11:28 IST

So, the first United States presidential debate is over. The event held at Hofstra University saw Republican nominee Donald Trump going up against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in a 90-minute debate where both candidates packed in quite a few punches.

Here’s a look at the varied emotions they went through during the interesting event.

Hmm, let me think of an answer quickly. Or no, wait, is my business really doing well? Will I win this presidential election? Trump seems to be pondering the million questions that are going through his head. Photograph: Lucas Jackson/Reuters

No, wait. I want to get a point in there. Donald Trump seems insistent of getting his point across. Trump through the event tried to counter Hillary and at times got his way too. Photograph: Brian Snyder/Reuters

Oh, please! Am winning this one, this one’s too easy. Trump seems not too interested in what Clinton has to say, does he? Photograph: Lucas Jackson/Reuters

‘I have better temperament than her’, Trump said during the debate. Clinton can’t help but smile about it, can she? Trump’s record shows that he is well, kind of, temperamental. Photograph: Drew Angerer/Getty Images

He keeps blaming me. May be if I glare at him a bit, he might cow down? Clinton doesn’t seem too pleased with Trump slamming her and US President Barack Obama on the Iran deal or anything else either. Photograph: Drew Angerer/Getty Images
