July 10, 2017 08:40 IST

A massive fire has broken out at a large building in London’s Camden Lock Market.

As many as 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters are on the spot trying to douse the flames.

The London Fire Brigade, on it Twitter account, appealed to the people to “please avoid the area”.

Here are the horrific scenes from the spot.

According to onlookers, the fire started at Gilgamesh --an upmarket Indian restaurant based inside the huge market hall, home to 1,000 businesses. However, the fire officials said it was too early to determine the source of the fire.

There are no reports of any injuries yet, but officials said it was too early as they continued to douse the flames at the market -- a famous tourist spot.

Witness Joan Ribes was quoted as saying, "The fire was moving very fast. People were watching, but we were scared the building could explode at any time since there are restaurants with kitchens nearby."
