Glenn Buratti isn't going to forget his sixth birthday ever.

The day started off on a horrible note for young Glenn from St Cloud, Florida, US with none of his 16 invitees turned up for his birthday party.

Glenn, who has epilepsy and a mild form of autism, was heartbroken, his mother Ashlee later told media persons.

'From the minute he woke up that day he wanted to know how many minutes until his friends came,' Buratti, 25, told Daily Mail, adding that 'his eyes filled with tears when he learned no one was coming.'

Ashlee then took to social networking website to vent her ire.

'I know this might be something silly to rant about, but my heart is breaking for my son,' Buratti wrote. 'He keeps asking 'when will my friends get here?''

Almost immediately, strangers responded and soon, kids and their parents started arriving with gifts.

The post also caught the eye of the local county sheriff's Office, who presented the little boy with a flypast by the sheriff's helicopter. Police officers also pooled their money and bought Glenn gifts.

A week later, sheriff's cars, police dogs and fire trucks paid Glenn a visit at home.

Buratti said the outpouring of generosity from the community had restored her faith in the human spirit.

'The amazingness of everybody coming together for someone that they didn’t even know,' she told local media outlet WKMG, adding, 'A kid that didn’t have anybody come to his birthday party. It warmed my heart'.
