The house is a 1928 mansion, featuring nine bedrooms and eight-and-a-half bathrooms.
The family made it official that they would be staying in Washington until their younger daughter Sasha finishes up at Sidwell Friends School, which is minutes away from their new home.
The $4.3 million home has separate dressing rooms and his/her bathrooms, entertaining space, and a garden.
It has hardwood floors, a gourmet kitchen with marble countertops and a wine cellar.
The house has a two-car garage and a gated courtyard for eight to 10 vehicles.
The residence is owned by former press secretary to Bill Clinton, Joe Lockhart and his wife Giovanna Gray Lockhart, the Washington editor of Glamour.
