4 feet under: Boston suffers another WHITEOUT!

Another weekend, another major snowstorm: A winter storm on America’s north-east coast has brought near-whiteout conditions.

The storm, which began on Saturday and surged into Sunday, has blanketed parts of the city with about another foot of snow -- on top of 6 feet that has fallen over the last month.

“It’s official,” the National Weather Service tweeted earlier on Sunday. “Boston has reached its snowiest month on record with 45.5 total inches. The old record was 43.3 in January 2005.”

The snowy conditions have forced the cancellation of more than 1,750 passenger flights, most of them into and out of airports in Boston and New York.

And residents of Boston had only one message for Mother Nature: “Give us a break.”
