Both Houses of Parliament were adjourned till noon on Friday when Opposition members disrupted the Question Hour for the 16th working day, demanding a joint parliamentary committee probe into the 2-G spectrum allocation scam.

In the Lok Sabha, members from the Bharatiya Janata Party and its National Democratic Alliance allies, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Samajwadi Party walked into the well immediately after Speaker Meira Kumar completed the obituary reference to a former member and victims of the Bhopal gas tragedy.

The protesting members shouted, "We want JPC".

Some members were carrying a newspaper clipping which read "SC to Raja: Why did you over-rule PM".

Earlier, Kumar made an obituary reference to Srikishan Modi, a member of the fifth Lok Sabha. She also referred to the Bhopal gas tragedy that took place on this day in 1984.

The House observed silence for sometime in memory of the departed souls. In the Rajya Sabha too, opposition BJP and AIADMK stalled proceedings demanding a JPC to look into the 2G spectrum issue, leading to adjournment of the House till noon.

As soon as the House met for the day, BJP and AIADMK members stormed the well shouting slogans demanding a JPC probe.

Chairman Hamid Ansari took up the first listed question of the day but the members remained unrelenting. The opposition slogan shouting was countered by ruling Congress benches demanding the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyruppa over alleged illegal mining in the state.

"This is not correct," Ansari said, asking members to go back to their places.

But the members were adamant and kept chanting "We want JPC". Ansari then adjourned the House till noon.
