For the second consecutive day, Lok Sabha on Thursday failed to transact any business as the proceedings remained paralysed, with angry members of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam disrupting the House, seeking an international inquiry into atrocities against ethnic Tamils in the island nation.

The House was adjourned three times -- first soon after it met for the day, at noon and then at 2 pm -- as members of the Dravidian parties stormed the Well to raise vociferous slogans against the Sri Lankan government and seek a resolution in Parliament.

"We want an international inquiry," chanted AIADMK members, while DMK members shouted, "We want resolution". They also denounced the Sri Lankan President for the plight of Tamils.

Members of Trinamool Congress also trooped into the Well, demanding additional rice through the Public Distribution System for West Bengal. They raised slogans against Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Railway Minister P K Bansal for "ignoring the state" in the matters of development and rail projects.

P C Chacko, who was in the Chair, told DMK and AIADMK leaders T R Baalu and M Thambidurai respectively that he was ready to allow them to speak if they called back their members from the Well. But neither appeared interested in doing so.

After tabling of papers amid the din, Chacko adjourned the House till 2 pm.

Earlier, DMK members also raised the issue of CBI raids on party leader M K Stalin's residence in Tamil Nadu in the morning.

Trouble broke out soon after Speaker Meira Kumar read out the obituary reference to Bangladesh President Mohammad Zillur Rahman.

She tried to continue with the Question Hour but as members remained unrelenting on their stance, she adjourned the House till noon.

When the House met again at 2 pm, members from DMK and AIADMK entered the Well and shouted slogans, forcing Deputy Speaker Kariya Munda to call it a day.
