Pappu Yadav brought to Delhi to be lodged in Tihar

February 19, 2005 11:44 IST

Controversial Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav was brought to New Delhi on Saturday to be lodged in the high-security Tihar Jail.

This follows a Supreme Court directive to move Yadav to a jail outside Bihar.

Yadav, who arrived by the Rajdhani Express from Patna, was taken to Tihar in a police bus.

Yadav is in police custody in connection with the murder of Communist Party of India-Marxist MLA Ajit Sarkar.
