The Pakistan army once again violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in the Poonch district of Jammu late on Tuesday. The attack is the second in four days, with Pakistani troops targeting Indian posts last Sunday.

“Pakistan army opened unprovoked firing using small arms and automatic weapons in the KG sector last night. Our troops retaliated the fire using weapons of similar calibre. No damage or casualties have been reported own side,” a defence spokesman said.

Last year, 12 jawans were killed and 41 injured in the highest number of ceasefire violations and firing by Pakistani troops on forward post, civilian areas and patrolling parties along the Indo-Pak border.
