Pakistan's paramilitary force's chief in Peshawar was killed and several others injured when a suicide bomber struck his vehicle near the headquarters of the organisation on Wednesday.

The police said the attacker targeted the car of Frontier Constabulary Commandant Sifwat Ghayur at the FC Chowk in Peshawar.

Ghayur was killed on the spot and several others, including passers-by, were injured in the attack, which took place near the headquarters of Frontier Constabulary.

At least three other cars were destroyed by the blast, which shattered the window panes of the nearby buildings.
