Union Ministers Kapil Sibal and D Purandeswari were forced to return without attending a scheduled programme in Hyderabad Central University after pro-Telangana students blocked their path demanding a separate state.

The two ministers had come to attend the conference of vice chancellors of the central universities at the Institute of English and Foreign Languages in Hyderabad Central University campus on Saturday.

Students shouting slogans laid a siege of the ministers and did not allow them to enter the premises.

They wanted the ministers to ensure that a bill is moved in the Parliament for the formation of a separate state. They also rejected the Srikrishna committee saying it was a tactic to further delay the process.

As the students demonstration continued unabated, the two ministers returned from the place with out attending the meeting.
