Osama Doesn't Live Here Anymore

September 14, 2021 10:59 IST

On May 2, 2011, Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the dreaded 9/11 attacks, was killed by American forces in Abbotabad, Pakistan.

For five years, the compound in Abbotabad -- which was located 0.8 miles from the Pakistan military academy -- was home to bin Laden, his several wives, children and a handful of aides.

20 years after 9/11, Reuters Photographer Akhtar Soomro visited the site to discover how time has treated it.
